Meet Heidi

Movement has the power to change more than your body—it can change how you feel about yourself.
When I was 42, I learned I carry the BRCA1 gene mutation. To reduce my cancer risk, I chose to undergo a hysterectomy followed by a double mastectomy. While those surgeries were lifesaving, they also left me feeling disconnected from my body. I felt like I had lost control of something that had always been mine.
Healing wasn't quick, and it wasn't easy.
I began exercising not to change the way I looked, but to rebuild strength, regain confidence, and reconnect with my body. Little by little, I realized that every workout, every small victory, and every step forward helped me reclaim a part of myself.
That experience is the heart of Slow Burn Pilates.
I know what it feels like to start over. I know how intimidating it can be to trust your body again. That's why I teach with patience, purpose, and compassion—meeting you where you are while helping you discover just how strong you're capable of becoming.
I believe strength is about so much more than muscles. It's about resilience, confidence, and learning to trust your body again—whether you're recovering from surgery, healing from an injury, navigating life's changes, or simply looking to feel stronger than you did yesterday.
My goal is to create a space where you feel supported, challenged, and empowered. A place where progress happens at your pace, where movement is intentional, and where you can build strength while reclaiming your body.
Because healing doesn't happen all at once. It happens one breath, one movement, and one victory at a time.
I can't wait to be part of your journey.
About
A studio built for the way bodies actually change.
SLOW burn is a boutique reformer Pilates studio in Gig Harbor. We opened it because most fitness comes in two flavors — hard and fast, or gentle and vague. We wanted a third: slow, precise, and hard in a way you feel two days later.
Every class caps at eight reformers, and new members complete five private sessions before joining a class. The coach walks the room. You get watched, corrected, and pushed on the movements that actually matter for your body — not the ones the group is doing well.
Our members are runners rehabbing knees, parents fitting fitness around childcare, cyclists undoing hip tightness, and people who just want to stand up straight and lift their kids without wincing. It works for all of them because the method is the same: small ranges, controlled tempo, and paying attention.
Small by design
Eight reformers, one coach, zero anonymity. You're not a number on a wristband.
Slow on purpose
We teach at the tempo where the stabilizers wake up. If it feels harder than it looks, that's the point.
Built to repeat
A method you can do three times a week for a decade — and still be learning from.
